$2500 WORTH OF CASH PRIZES FOR STUDENT WASTE-ART COMPETITION
Open to school students and holiday organisations around Australia to repurpose rubbish into prize-winning artworks.
2024 REGISTRATIONS OPENING SOON
All kids from Kindergarten to Year 12 are invited to participate in the 2024 ‘Litterarty’ Waste-Art competition for the chance to win cash prize shares from a pool of $2500 and get involved in the annual Volvo Ocean Lovers Festival! Free entries will be accepted from individuals, groups and/or classes.
Works must be constructed from collected rubbish that has been repurposed into an art medium of the students choosing, including sculpture, 2D, assemblage, mixed media, and collage.
Selected entries will be invited to display their works at an exhibition hosted by the Volvo Ocean Lovers Festival at the Bondi Pavilion from the 20th – 24th March 2024, where a panel of ocean devoted judges will determine the winners.
Two Valerie Taylor Prizes, each entailing $750 worth of prize money, funded by Blue World, will be awarded to the primary and secondary school winners elected by the judges. Runner-up prizes of $250 will be awarded to both the primary and secondary categories. A People’s Choice Award of $500 will be awarded to the artwork favoured by fellow ocean lovers at the Volvo Ocean Lovers Festival. In addition, the Australian National Maritime Museum will exhibit the works of the overall primary, secondary and people’s choice winners following the festival!
