WHY A FESTIVAL?​

The Ocean Lovers Festival exists to bridge a critical gap in the climate conversation where the ocean, our planet’s life support system, is too often overlooked. Although one in every two breaths we take comes from the ocean, there remains a striking lack of ocean literacy and awareness about its vital role in regulating climate and sustaining life.

Sydney, as a global ocean capital and coastal city deeply connected to the sea, provides the perfect stage for this movement.

The Festival unites community, science, business, and culture to celebrate the ocean while showcasing solutions that empower people to take tangible steps toward change.
