Welcome to Tidal Traces. You've heard of generative AI but have you heard of generative action? This involves the physical behaviours that promote the well-being of future generations. Tidal Traces explores the art between AI and what's left of our natural world. Our hope, through immersive installation, projection and sculpture is to both inspire and move you to leave our future generations with a world as beautiful as we've captured here.
About the Artists
Nick Wilkinson
Nick Wilkinson is an established DJ (@wilkomusic), and music creator as well as an underwater photographer (@seathroughsound) based in Sydney. In his process, he creates AI-infused audio visuals (@wilkomotion). His mission through his projects is to evoke child-like wonder through sensory experiences fusing art, sound, AI and nature in a captivating exploration of nostalgia.
Claudia Leonard
Recently graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Animation) from the Victorian College of the Arts, Claudia's interdisciplinary approach to animation and crafting is primarily endorsed by her interest in environmental conservation, femininity, and identity. Born in Sydney and currently residing in Melbourne, Claudia has received award status at the Sydney Women’s International Film Festival, exhibited at MIAF, created animated visuals for nightclubs across Sydney and Melbourne, installed projection and sculpture pieces for Woodburnia festival, and illustrated for the ABC. Inspired by Surrealist paintings, Claudia endeavours to create multi-sensory, dream-like celebrations of our experiences and environments.
